"Preventing Defensiveness When Speaking Your Truth"

RANDI CUTLER

Marriage & Family Therapist

I believe that relationships are one of the most fundamental pieces of human existence. When these connections are built upon strong foundations, they provide protection against future turmoil and create a more compassionate and loving environment both within the relationship, and in the broader context of society.

That is where I come in. As a Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in Love and Loss, I aim to help people learn how to build relationships with themselves and others from the ground up and from the inside out, in a way that provides them with an effective system for working through life's challenges.

Currently, I dedicate my life to helping individuals, couples, and groups improve the foundations of their most important relationships. I value and encourage self-awareness and self-advocacy, clear boundaries, wholehearted communication, and effective conflict resolution skills, as these are the building blocks of increased intimacy, trust, and relational longevity. As a systems thinker, I believe that people do not exist in a vacuum; people become themselves through their life experiences and their relationships with others.

One’s internal and external environments set the stage for the direction that his or her life takes, so developing a solid sense of self, authentic connections with others, and a nurturing environment are crucial for a sustainably fulfilling life.

In my opinion, it isn't about finding ways to avoid problems or to always look at the bright side. Rather, it's about getting real with yourself and learning to recognize and lean into the discomfort of the change and growth process.

In order to manifest the greatness we are destined for, we must start with ourselves and be active and accountable participants in our own transcendence. This inspires transformation and makes space for the full breadth of the human experience within ourselves, our relationships, and even our universe.
